“The situation at SUNY Canton is very concerning and is
being taken seriously by SUNY Police and local and state law enforcement
agencies. My office is continuing to
monitor the situation and I am receiving briefs by SUNY Officials. I am
confident that SUNY Canton has taken the necessary and appropriate measures by
calling for a shelter-in-place and I urge all students, faculty and employees
to cooperate. I know that law
enforcement agencies will determine who made these threats and in the meantime will
keep the Canton community safe while the investigation and search is going on.”
